Meet the architect
Marlo Brown - Principal Architect
Founded in Seattle by Principal Architect Marlo Brown, Marlo Brown Architects focuses on high-end, custom residential design, and provides full architectural services from start to finish. Marlo received her Masters of Architecture from Columbia University in 2009 and graduated with High Honors from Smith College in 2006 with a B.A. in Architecture & Urbanism. She has also studied at Harvard Graduate School of Design and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Most recently she has been featured in the Seattle Times for her major remodel and addition of a custom residence in the Laurelhurst neighborhood.
As a Pacific Northwest native, Marlo is inspired by the Asian and Scandinavian styles she observes in the Seattle area, and appreciates the Northwest's willingness to embrace modern architectural form. The natural environment and a drive to achieve architectural elegance are fundamental themes that continually guide the firm's work locally, nationally and internationally.
Marlo is a current member of Seattle AIA Women in Design, and has been a visiting critic at the University of Washington. She has also served on the Board of Directors for Architects Without Borders, and participates on-and-off with various local non-profits, including Seattle Design Nerds. She currently resides with her husband in the Central District.
